Winter Wonderland

BRRR!! It's getting colder here! I certainly HOPE we get some snow this weekend!!
As soon as I heard that we had snow forecast for this weekend, I decided to make a quick card.

The image used on this card is a High Hopes image. I loved the Snowlady holding the birdhouse!
I used Copics to color the image, and used colors B000, B16, B21, BG18, E31, G12, R27, R29, R81, V04, V07, W7, and Y17.
The background paper I used is one that I thought went very well with a snowy scene - Winter Wonderland is written on the DP, as well as glitter applied to the DP. The large snowflake used is one that was sent to me by a friend I swapped with.

Inside the card, I used DPs with snowy scenes. The Ribbon shown across the top of the inside of the card says it all - LET IT SNOW!!!

Stay warm!!

Let It Snow!!

I couldn't resist making a card based on winter after I had seen the DP I used on the card in a scrapbook store!

This card was made for High Hopes Challenge #55. It was made according to the layout for this challenge. The CS used in the background is a textured Bazzill CS I found in a local scrapbook store. The DP I used has glitter on it, as well as the verse "Winter Wonderland". The eskimo and seal were colored with Copic Sketch pens, and artificial snow was used for the eskimo and seal to "sit" on. In the scalloped circle used as a background behind the seal and eskimo I was certain to use a DP with snow falling. In the upper Left corner of the card front are 2 snowflakes, with small "bling" in the center of both of them. Dew Drops were used in the upper Right corner of the card's front. The verse on the front is also a High Hopes stamp.

Inside of the card, I used a DP that has snowmen printed on one side, and snowflakes printed on the reverse side. The ribbon I placed at the top and the bottom of the snowman print has a small amount of glitter in the center of the snowflakes. On the side of the DP with snowflakes, I placed 3 "bling" snowflakes of a dark blue color so they would stand out.

BRRR!! After making this card, I think I will have a cup of hot tea or cocoa to drink!!

Ho, Ho, Ho!!

WOW!! I haven't been on for such a long time due to things that had to be done!! SORRY!!

This image is for the High Hopes Stamps Challenge #54. Santa is coming down the chimney!
I colored the images of Santa and the presents with Copic pens; and trimmed around the circle template from Nestabilities, leaving part of the image outside of the circle. Artificial snow with glitter was used on the roof. Copic #B000 was used to add some color to the rim of the circle. Ribbon used around the top of the card is a sheer white ribbon with some glitter in it. The green ribbon used was used to accentuate the green in the Basic Grey Designer Paper behind the image.

Inside of the card, I kept snowy scenes. The Designer Paper is Basic Grey. On the upper section, I put white CS, with the snow with glitter on it. I continued to use the artificial snow on the trees that were punched out of dark green CS. The paper on this square has small images of Santa with a reindeer on it, along with images of children dressed for cold weather.

The paper used in the lower square has a winter scene of houses with Christmas trees and bare trees. The quote is a High Hopes quote. Paper behind the quote was punched with the Martha Stewart "loopy" punch.

Stay warm and enjoy!!

Time to Work!!

Miss Zoe looks SO happy!!

This image, as well as the papers and some of the embellishments were included in a High Hopes Card Kit Swap I hosted. The image looked so happy, I just had to work on a card with it!

I used Prismacolor Pencils to color this image, instead of Copics. The cardstocks used in the card are Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, and Bermuda Bay, all are this year's In Colors from Stampin Up. I used a Martha Stewart punch on the edges of the cardstock seen on the front of the card.

Inside the card, I used papers from the Card Kit. The paper edged with the scallop punch was sent in the kit.
The flowers used inside in the lower Left corner were sent to me by a friend. I used brads that ere given to me in swaps, two of the flowers have brads with "glittery" dust applied to them. The flower in the lower Right corner was sent to me in the Card Kit.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HIGH HOPES BLOG!!!!

Today is the first birthday (or "blogoversary") of the High Hopes Blog! AND, it is also a Happy Birthday to Danielle for her birthday yesterday, and a Happy Birthday for Ying, whose Birthday is tomorrow!!

This card shows Gavin, the dragon on his way to a party. He looks like he's ready to celebrate! Gavin and the presents he carries are colored with Copics. Glitter pens are used on Gavin for his scales and his teeth. The Yellow-Orange package he is carrying has streamers on it that are colored with a blue glitter pen. SU Cardstocks, and other DPs are used to make this card. The phrase shown is from a DP for birthdays. The only cardstock that is not SU is the White Cardstock that is used for images. All stamping is done with Memento black ink.

The inside of the card has DP on both sections. Ribbon is used to celebrate the birthday. A Clear glitter pen is used on the candles on the cake in the upper section, and the presents at the bottom are colored with Copics. The phrases on the lower section are from DP for birthdays, and the phrase for birthdays is from High Hopes. The phrases are on placed on Cardstock - Natural White and Crushed Curry, both from SU.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Here is one of my favorite High Hopes stamps - Jolie Little Friend. Jolie looks SO happy watching that worm on the leaf!

I colored the image with Copic Sketch Markers, using strokes to make the grass look like real grass. I wanted to use bright colors, and also to have flowers on the DP used below the image. The flowers on the card were sent to me by a friend, and they matched the card colors so well I had to use them!

The DP used inside the card has pictures of animals, and phrases relating to the animals and their behavior in the wild, during the spring. The verse used in the card is also from High Hopes:

The kiss of the sun for pardon,

the song of the birds for mirth.

One is nearer God's heart in a garden

Than anywhere else on earth.
- Dorothy Frances Burney

Again, I used a flower on the inside of the card that was sent to me by a friend.
I know it's Autumn now, but I think this stamp is so very cute!! Hope you enjoy it!

Milton looks SO happy with the apples he is carrying! The CS behind the image is embossed with a Cuttlebug A2 embossing folder for Autumn. Natural White CS is used for the base, Brown CS and Rust DP behind the image. The large black brads and ribbon on the card front are matching the colors used in this card.Copic markers were used to color the image, Crystal Effects was used to make apples & Milton's hooves & antlers appear more 3D
Inside the card, DP with Autumn-like images/colors are used. The square area at the bottom is Natural White CS, framed by dark brown DP. The verse shown telling about Autumn is from a Stampendous stamp I had. I used Copics to color the leaves and the acorn shown with the verse "Autumn is a second Spring when every leaf is a flower".
